PDP-Laban Nominates Pres. Duterte to Run for Vice President in Election 2022

DUTERTE – PH President Rodrigo Roa Duterte accepted the nomination of PDP-Laban for vice president and revealed the reason why he’s running.

It is less than a year now before the Filipinos would exercise their right to vote once again. A few politicians have already confirmed their candidacy for the Election 2022.

Many are wondering who might take the place of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte after he steps down from the office. There are also speculations on whether or not the 76-year-old Chief Executive is running for another national position. There are persistent calls for him to run for vice president.

The Cusi wing of PDP-Laban, the political party of the President, wants him to run for vice president. The party is currently facing issues and is divided into factions.

Previously, Pres. Duterte expressed that he is planning to retire from politics after his term as president ends. He shared that he wants to go home to Davao City after his term. However, his party was asking the Chief Executive to reconsider his decision.

The President seemingly changed his mind on it and he previously announced to count him as a vice-presidential candidate in the next election. Recently, PDP-Laban held a convention to determine its bets in the upcoming election.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, PDP-Laban nominated Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte for vice president in the Elections 2022. The Chief Executive accepted the nomination.

According to the President, he wants to run for vice president for his love for the country and for the continuity of what his administration has started. He stressed that he can maybe help with the existing problems of the country. He expressed his confidence that his party will win the elections.
