No Vax Card, No Dine-in Says Resto Owners Of The Philippines

Resto Owners Group Announces No Vax Card, No Dine-in Policy Amid Alert Level 4

NO VAX CARD, NO DINE-IN – With the National Capital Region (NCR) under alert level 4, several new policies were implemented.

The new alert level system was created in an attempt to balance reopening the economy amid surges in COVID-19 cases. Now, as NCR is placed under alert level 4, food establishments can only operate with a maximum of 30% seating capacity.

Furthermore, only 10% of this is allowed to operate on indoor dining or dine-in services. Additionally, this service would only be available for people that have already been vaccinated against COVID-19.

In line with this, Restaurant Owners of the Philippines President Eric Teng said fully vaccinated individuals need only present their locally issued vaccination cards in order to dine in. According to an article from GMA, he said:

We reminded our members to be vigilant with enforcing the safety protocols. We post signs asking guests to present their vaccine card before being seated indoors

Meanwhile, those without vaccination cards could still be served food, provided that the restaurant has an outdoor dining space available. Additionally, take-out services are also available regardless of vaccination status.

As per the article, Trade chief Ramon Lopez earlier stated that around P180 million in revenue are expected to be recovered by restauranteurs, salons, and barbershops allowed to operate.

Along with this, Teng said members of Resto PH are offering special promo rates for health workers. Teng emphasized that this was their way to show a “gesture of gratitude and support” for frontliners.
