PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (September 10)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Typhoon Kiko would continue to bring an inclement weather condition in some parts of the country.
On Friday (September 10, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Kiko would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.
Typhoon Kiko has been last spotted at 280 kilometers east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora. It has maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 230 kph moving 20 kph at a northwestward direction.
Kiko is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring monsoon rains over the western sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas in the next 24 hours.
The southwest monsoon would bring monsoon rains over Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Visayas.
Cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms is expected over Bicol region and Marinduque due to the effects of Habagat and localized thunderstorms.
Stormy weather condition with possible flash floods or landslides during heavy to intense rains are expected over Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela. Rainy weather with gusty winds are expected over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Kalinga, and northern Aurora.
Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country are expected to experience similar weather conditions. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
The weather disturbance is moving northwestward heading to Babuyan Islands-Batanes area. It is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday afternoon or evening (September 12).
Meanwhile, the weather agency warned the mariners that sea ventures remainrisky due to current coastal water condition.
