A food delivery rider earned praises from the online community for braving the heavy rains amid the devastation of Typhoon Jolina.
A Facebook user named Cris Jarme has shared the video footage of a Grab Food employee braving the Typhoon Jolina just to deliver the orders of his customers. The video garnered various reactions from the netizens.
In the video, it can be seen that the delivery worker is braving the heavy rains while walking and carrying his insulated box to perform his job. The video has been taken on Wednesday afternoon (September 8).
Jarme narrated that he and his fellow motorists along the road have been stranded due to the floodwaters. The rider left its motorcycle at a safe place and braved the flood just to work and earn money.
“Actually stranded po kami sa baha, tapos nakita namin si kuya naglalakad. Siguro di kakayanin ng motor niya [’yung] baha kaya naglakad sya. ’Yung kotse na sasakyan ng tropa ko di kaya suuingin baha motor pa kaya,” Jarme said.
Cris also advised the Filipino people to be more patient for their orders because the delivery employees were facing difficulties due to the inclement weather condition. The netizens also prayed for the safety of the brave rider.
The delivery employee’s gesture shows his determination and perseverance to earn money in a decent way. His life may serve as an inspiration towards others.
