PNR and Parents of Train Accident Victims Blamed by Police Authorities Over Unfortunate Incident
The police authorities were blaming PNR and the parents of the three train accident victims over the unfortunate incident.
Last Sunday (August 22, 2021), three teenagers with age ranging from 16 to 17 years old died after getting hit by a train in Sta. Mesa, Manila. The boys were walking in the middle of the railways while heading to a basketball game.
The Barangay tanod Lester Narra tried to warn the victims but they did not hear the warning due to the loud horn of the train. The youngsters were dead on the spot after suffering severe injuries.
A police investigator said that the both Philippine National Railways and parents of the victims have lapses on the incident. The accidents leads to the untimely death of three male teenagers after getting hit by a train.
Manila Department Traffic Enforcement Unit chief investigator Police Lieutenant William Toledo said that the Philippine National Railways lacked safety precautions to prevent such incidents.
“Pangalawa, wala silang (PNR) ano eh, kaukulang safety precaution dun sa area, ni walang fence,” Toledo said.
Toledo also point out the lapses of the parents for allowing their children to go outside despite the strict lockdown.
“Sa parte ng magulang ng mga biktima, may pagkukulang kasi despite na under MECQ pa rin kami, hinahayaan nila yung mga anak nila sa labas ng ganu’ng oras at sa gitna ng pandemya,” Toledo added.
People aging 18 below and 65 years old above are prohibited to go outside under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ). They are only allowed if they need to work or acquire essential goods and services.
