Laguna, Bataan: Malacañang Reveals Decision on Community Quarantine Measure

New Community Quarantine Measure in Laguna, Bataan Provinces Until August 31

LAGUNA, BATAAN – Malacañang announced its decision on the community quarantine measure in the two (2) provinces until August 31, 2021.

The Philippines is trying to contain the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19. The cases continue to increase and the national government had to return the strict community quarantine measures even if it might have negative effects on the economy.

Even the business sector believes that action has to be taken to fight the possible spread of the Delta variant, a variant of interest for its higher transmissibility rate. The lockdown will be a huge loss for the PH economy and experts believe that the losses can only be balanced if the time would be used to boost the vaccinations.

Amid Metro Manila and several other provinces being under the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the COVID-19 vaccination program continued. Those who have vaccination schedules were allowed to go out.

The ECQ in Laguna is set to expire today while Bataan will remain under the strictest level of quarantine measure until August 22. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang announced that the two (2) provinces will be under Modified ECQ after its ECQ expires.

The MECQ in the said provinces will be until August 31, 2021. According to Malacañang, establishments that offer personal care services like nail spas and beauty salons are still not allowed to operate under the MECQ. In-door and al fresco dining are also not allowed in areas under the MECQ. The national government and several other groups continue to remind the public to practice the health protocols and to make compromises amid the risks like not holding big gatherings now.
