PAGASA Says Easterlies to Affect PH Weather

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the easterlies would prevail over most parts of the country.

On Wednesday (August 18, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA said that the easterlies would bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers over Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Similar weather conditions are expected over the entire Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands. The region of Mindanao is also expected to experience the same.

Localized thunderstorms are also expected over parts of central Mindanao, Bukidnon, Cotabato provinces, Panay Island, Zamboanga Peninsula and Samar provinces.

“Possible ang localized thunderstorms tulad kahapon lalo na dito sa central portion of Mindanao, sa Bukidnon, sa Cotabato provinces, sa Panay Island, Zamboanga Peninsula and Samar provinces,” weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The weather system would also bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. It is also expected to cause possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the Northern, Central Luzon, rest of Luzon and Visayas as well as Mindanao would be slight to moderate. The weather bureau did not also raise any gale warning.
