Young Boy Sells Paintings, Notebooks to Help Friend with Brain Tumor

Young Boy Wants to Help Friend Suffering from Brain Tumor by Selling Own Artworks

A 7-year-old boy has to sell paintings and notebook artworks to be able to help his friend suffering from a brain tumor in Bacolod City.

According to a report by Radyo Bandera Bacolod, Derek Sanchez Sanson sells notebooks for P100 with customizable patterns painted on the covers. Instead of buying a video gaming brand, Derek, who purportedly recovered from significant illnesses, thought of a way to aid with the medicine of two sick children here.

Based on the report, his family is very grateful as his survival of the sickness at such a young age was a miracle. Derek began painting in February after taking an online art class.

Derek also planned to send some of the money to one of his mother’s ballet pupils, who has been intubated in a Manila hospital for the past 11 days. According to Mrs. Sanson, the outpouring of support has been amazing.

They’ve also sent donated notebooks to Bacolod Boy’s Home and will be delivering at the Kalipay Foundation, as well as children with cancer and the Puluy-an Youth, she said. Rather than charging a fee to mail the notebooks, several of them agreed to let us donate them here, she said.

She claims that as a result of the assistance, the number of recipients is growing. Derek’s older sister is also assisting him in painting more notebooks, which they hope to deliver to youngsters affected by the Marawi siege.
