Dimples Romana talked about her friendship with Bea Alonzo
Kapamilya actress Dimples Romana said this about the friendship she has with now Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo amid the network war issue.
In the Philippine entertainment industry, the war between TV networks is just a common topic. Whether some may perceive this as a professional or personal rivalry, it is a fact that indeed there is competition.
On the other hand, for Dimples, this is not an issue. Last month, officially signed a contract with GMA-7 and this has become one of the most controversial network transfer of celebrities. It is a known fact that Bea received a lot of negative comments from Kapamilya fans and personalities from ABS-CBN who spoke against her. However, her fans and her closest friends in the industry defended her.
One of them was Dimples Romana, who said in a previous interview that wherever a member of a family will go, he or she will remain a “Kapamilya”. In a recent interview by PEP, the Kapamilya actress was asked about her friendship with Bea Alonzo amid the issue of network war.
Dimples and Bea belonged to the Thursday Group whose friendship started when they did the movie One More Chance. Also included in the group are Bea Saw and Janus del Prado who has been defending Bea Alonzo against bashers.
“Para sa akin, if the opportunity and the growth for you will be there, and, you know, you’ll be able to provide for your family, why not?” Dimples said. She also shared that there were weird comments some people would say about her friendship with Bea after she transferred to the Kapuso network.
“Ang weird talaga, sabi ko, ‘Bakit ganoon? Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit ganoon. Basta para sa akin po at ang aking pamilya, we will never lose respect and love for anyone who chooses to do what they feel is right for their families,” Dimples Romana said.
She added that those who transferred to other networks will surely bring the Kapamilya spirit with them and make other Kapamilyas proud. Dimples also stressed that the success of one Kapamilya will be a success for all. For her, it is just the same as artists from ABS-CBN accepting wholeheartedly the stars who came from other networks. Network transfer should not the reason to end a friendship, Dimples Romana expressed.
