Metro Manila To Observe Quarantine Pass System, Curfew Hours amid ECQ
QUARANTINE PASS – Metro Manila will be under ECQ for two weeks and the QP system will be observed during this period.
The Philippines is now doing everything it can to prevent the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19. It became a variant of concern across the globe for its higher transmissibility. Several nations including PH recorded cases of the said variant.
The first cases of the Delta variant recorded in PH were returning Filipinos from abroad. However, now, there are already local transmissions of the variant in the country as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH).
There are a lot of calls to intensify the measures against the spread of COVID-19 and speed up the vaccination in the Philippines. Quarantine measures continue to be imposed in the whole nation.
Despite its possible negative effects on the economy, a hard lockdown in the National Capital Region (NCR) is set for implementation this month. Starting August 6 until August 20, Metro Manila will be under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the strictest among the four (4) quarantine measures.

Amid the ECQ in Metro Manila, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the quarantine pass system will be implemented again for two (2) weeks. Also, the curfew hours will be lengthened from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
The quarantine pass will be issued by the local government units (LGUs). It is in the pursuit to limit the number of people who are leaving their homes amid the hard lockdown. The vaccination will continue and those who are set to receive their vaccine will be allowed to go out.
Several cities in Metro Manila are experiencing an increase in their COVID-19 cases. Manila LGU said that it will boost its vaccination to 24/7.
