‘Were you ready to become a father?’ John Lloyd Cruz answers this question.
JOHN LLOYD CRUZ – Famous actor John Lloyd Cruz answers if he was ready to become a father when his son Elias Modesto came into his life.
Elias Modesto is the son of John Lloyd Cruz with actress Ellen Adarna. He is now three years old and he and the actress are working on a peaceful and healthy co-parenting relationship for their son. Cruz and Adarna became a couple in 2017 but got separated in 2019. Although parenthood wasn’t easy for them, to have a child was accordingly their desire.
In a previous article, he expressed that having a family is not the reason why he left the show business industry four years ago. Having Elias, on the other hand, has made better impacts in his life. The little child has given him a new life and gave him another inspiration to live and to work harder. He once said in a statement, “Kung ano ang gusto niya — maging tambay o astronaut — basta nandiyan lang ako to support him.”
However, was he ever ready to become a father? Initially, he admitted that they like to believe that they are in control of what is happening in their lives but it turned out that it wasn’t that way. He realized, “It took me a while para matanggap na akala mo ginusto mo, akala mo plinano mo but in reality, especially ngayon after tatlong taon, iba eh. Hindi eh.”
Although it wasn’t all under their control, he was not afraid of the responsibilities that came to him when Elias entered his life. He got scared because it was “a little bit too much than what he expected” but the whole essence of it didn’t affect him.
And because they are co-parenting, he shared that he is an active father but not as much as he wanted to because their little boy spends more time with his mother. And fatherhood for him in his life now is the most fascinating thing as per ABS-CBN report.
