Luis Manzano talked about his daughter in a recent interview
Kapamilya host Luis Manzano made no secret of the fact that he is already thinking about the future love life of Peanut, his child with his wife, actress Jessy Mendiola.
Luis and Jessy welcomed their daughter, Isabella Rose Tawile Manzano, on December 28, 2022. They nicknamed her Peanut and Rosie. The couple would share glimpses of Peanut’s activities and their bonding moments as a family.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of actress-politician Aiko Melendez, the TV host admits that even though their daughter is only three years old, as a father, it is only natural for him to be extremely protective of their only child.
Luis Manzano was asked about the possibility of Peanut having a suitor someday. Luis did not mince words and admitted that he already feels a sense of apprehension. “Meron talaga!” he said.
The conversation turned into a lighthearted exchange when Luis shared what he and Jessy had discussed regarding their future child’s future boyfriend.
“I’m not sure, baka ma-bash ako rito. Sinabi ko na kay Jessy ‘to, na parang honestly, walang puwedeng pumasok – sorry ha, if I put my hand down, na manliligaw sa anak ko,” he said, as Peanut is his “unica hija.”
He added a joke that he had only one condition for whoever might want to court Peanut.
“Sabi ko, ngayon pa lang dapat intindihin mo. Sabi ko kay Howhow (Jessy) na walang puwedeng manligaw kay Peanut unless Sy, Ayala, Razon, Gokongwei ang mga apelyido nila. Kung ganu’n, paghahandaan ko pa sila ng pagkain,” the Kapamilya host said.
However, the TV host also acknowledged that the day would come when he would no longer have control over all the decisions his child makes.
What matters, Luis said, is raising the child well and providing a proper upbringing, so that no matter what challenges arise, the child will know how to bounce back.
“You wanna believe na kaya mong i-control, but ang totoo, malabo-labo ‘yan. You just hope and pray that you raise them well enough so that even if they make mistakes, they will come back stronger and return to their core,” Luis Manzano said.
