John Lloyd Cruz Reveals Having Family Is Not The Reason Why He Left

Here is the real reason why John Lloyd Cruz left showbiz before.

JOHN LLOYD CRUZ – A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz shares why he left the show business industry while he was at the peak of his career.

Four years ago, many people got shocked when John Lloyd Cruz left the showbiz industry and escaped with actress Ellen Adarna. They got a son named Elias Modesto and they are currently working on a peaceful co-parenting relationship for the sake of their child. And when he stepped away from the limelight, despite not being seen on television, he made a few projects but with minimum appearance.

In a podcast with Karen Davila, he opened up about this part of his life as he is now returning to acting. Accordingly, although he was absent most of the time, he never ceased making films. He said, “Hindi ako umalis sa harap ng camera. Kasi kahit naman tumigil ako noon with my usual work in showbiz, in films and TV, nagtuloy pa rin naman ako but much, much smaller production.”

Answering why he left, he expressed that the “path” was too crowded, thus, he left. And just like many people, he just took a step back after figuring out that he wasn’t himself anymore. He accordingly got tired of “fighting for the content that I want to see on a more commercial platform” as per the podcast. He just got evolved and being burnout is the only way he can reduce to describe what he felt.

While he thought that it’s just normal for someone to desire to have a family, it was not the entire reason behind his hiatus. He shared, “To have your own family unit is a very primitive idea. Kaya siguro ako doon napadpad. But that’s not the entire reason kung bakit ako tumigil or umalis.”

Meanwhile, now that he’s returned, he is hopeful that his reunion project with Bea Alonzo will be pushed through.
