Pres. Duterte Speaks Anew Over Unvaccinated Filipinos
DUTERTE – Amid the increasing cases of COVID-19, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte said that barangay officials must not allow unvaccinated people to go out their houses.
Most countries across the globe now are in the pursuit of a population protection against the COVID-19. Unfortunately, the challenge to curb the spread of this coronavirus disease doubled following the detection of a more transmissible variant of the virus – the Delta variant.
The Delta is known to be more transmissible and it became a variant of concern after its impact on India where it was first logged. The healthcare system of India collapsed and many people died of COVID-19 amid the increasing cases due to the Delta variant.
Several nations including Bangladesh, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) also recorded cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19. It also caused another surge in the COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
For more than a year now, the Philippines remains to be under community quarantine measures as part of the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19. It has also recorded cases of the Delta variant which sparked worries over the possibility of another spike in the coronavirus cases.

PH is now in the vaccination process. However, many people have yet to receive their jabs for either of the two (2) common reasons – the limited supply of the vaccines or hesitations over the effectiveness and possible side effects of the vaccine.
Recently, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke anew about the unvaccinated Filipinos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive expressed that barangay officials must not allow their unvaccinated constituents to go out from their houses.
Pres. Duterte tagged an unvaccinated person as a “walking spreader”. Based on the report, he also expressed that he will tell the police to escort the unvaccinated people back to their houses. He stressed that he has to be strict or else there won’t be an end to the fight against the spread of the virus.
“Bayan itong pinag-uusapan natin. So kung ayaw ninyong makatulong by having the vaccines, ‘di ‘wag na lang kayong lumabas ng bahay.” the Chief Executive said.
Pres. Duterte acknowledged that there is no law preventing unvaccinated people from going out of their house. However, according to him, there is a “law of necessity” about it and he cannot wait for many people to die before he will act on it.
