PNP Cop Extorting Money from Police Applicant Arrested in an Entrapment
Authorities arrested another cop from Philippine National Police (PNP) for allegedly extorting money from a police applicant.
According to Abante’s report, a police master sergeant was arrested when it was determined that he sought money from a national police applicant. The extortionist was promised that his name would be added to the PNP’s final list of new recruits.

The culprit was identified as Police Master Sgt. Edmund Olaviano Delos Reyes in a PNP report released on Tuesday. On Monday, an entrapment operation was carried out at Bagong Lipunan, Quezon City, in order to apprehend the anomalous cop.
Delos Reyes allegedly sought P6,000 from a victim in order for him to join the PNP, according to PNP commander Gen. Guillermo Eleazar. The suspect is now being held at Camp Crame’s IMEG Headquarters.
Meanwhile, the uncovered work will be scrutinized further to see whether there are any other officers involved. Eleazar stated that the PNP recruitment system must be free of corruption in order to preserve the process’ integrity and fairness to all applicants.
“Ang ating PNP recruitment procedure ay dapat hindi nababahiran ng anumang katiwalian o korapsyon upang masiguro natin ang integridad ng ating proseso at maging patas sa lahat ng mga aplikante,” Eleazar said.
Meanwhile, two (2) ex-police were arrested after they were found possessing illegal drugs during the buy-bust operation in General Santos City. One of the police was arrested after selling illegal drugs known as “shabu” for P500 to an undercover cop.
The first apprehended police was detained and had another sachet of illegal substances worth P1,200 taken from him. The second suspect, on the other hand, was apprehended in a separated buy-bust operation. They are on our watchlist and are considered high-value targets
