Oriental Mindoro Governor Announces Work Suspension in the Province
Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito Dolor has declared work suspension due to the heavy rains and flooding due to effects of enhanced habagat.
On Friday (July 23, 2021), Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito Dolor has announced the suspension of work in all government and private offices throughout the province due to the continuous heavy rains over the past few days.
The government office received a report that some major roads in the province were already unpassable and not accessible especially for light vehicles due to the floodwaters. Typhoon Fabian enhances southwest monsoon, which brings incessant rains that causes flood.
Dolor said that the public hospitals would remain open and frontline personnel from the disaster management, engineering, and health offices are still require to report to work.
The province governor also said that private offices whose line of duty were involved in vital services such as power, telecommunications and health care should ensure that they have enough personnel for their operations.
The national government agencies’ heads and town mayors in the province could just add to the list of officers that need to continue their services, Dolor said. The official also advised the residents to remain at their houses for their own safety.
