2 Students Nabbed in a Buy-Bust Operation Over Illegal Plant in Davao Del Norte
Anti-narcotic operatives arrested two (2) students who were found possessing illegal plant called “maryjane” during a buy-bust operation in Davao Del Norte.
In Barangay New Visayas, Santo Tomas town, Davao del Norte, Santo Tomas Police conducted a drug bust against two students for allegedly trafficking illegal substances. The suspects, aged 19 and 18, are inhabitants of Santo Tomas’ Barangay Tibal-og.

Both are enrolled at a public school in town, according to the article. Three packages of suspected maryjane, drug paraphernalia, and P1,000 in buy-bust money, as well as P132, were seized by the authorities.
The two young drug suspects are currently being detained in custody by the police. They are now accused with breaking Republic Act 9165, often known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, P7.8 million worth of suspected Maryjane was discovered under a sewer tunnel in Anonang, Liwan, Rizal town, Kalinga. According to the Cordillera police report, when a concerned citizen noticed three suspicious sacks by the canal, he informed the authorities.
Rizal MPS officers went to the scene right away and discovered three sacks full of dried marijuana leaves and stalks piled on the road. A total of 65.3 kilograms of dried leaves and stalks were recovered in the form of 53 bricks and 24 tubes.
Earlier, the PNP also received information regarding the suspected transportation of marijuana bricks from Tabuk City, Kalinga to Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. The recovered evidence has already been brought to the Kalinga provincial police.
