Their comrades allegedly attempted to stop the two. However, because they were both drunk, their heads became even hotter, and Labrador fired his gun at Silanga, who also fired back.
Both were killed after being struck in various places of their bodies. Silanga was confirmed dead on arrival to the hospital, while Labrador died instantly.
Police recovered.45 caliber and 9mm ammunition shells from the location of the shooting, but they were unable to locate the two suspects’ guns. Meanwhile, officials in Cauayan, Negros Occidental, detained a van carrying the two’s associates.
The occupants of the van were invited to their station for questioning, but they denied any involvement in the incident, according to Latayon. Police are still looking into whether the two bodyguards who were killed had a squabble and were resentful of each other.
