Man Discovered as a Fake PDEA Agent Arrested During Buy-Bust in Ormoc City
The real agents of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a man who was allegedly a fake agent during buy-bust operation in Ormoc City.
Authorities arrested a man who is allegedly pretending as one of the agents of the anti-narcotic agency. Based on the report of Philippine state-controlled media PTV, the arrested suspect act as PDEA agent for his illegal activies.
PDEA Director Gen. Wilkins Villanueva identified the suspect as Ronaldo Galapin, considered a high-value target drug personality in Ormoc City. According to Villanueva, the drug suspect introduced himself as anti-narcotic agent when doing drug trade.

Based on the report, Galapin was apprehended by combined operatives of the PDEA Regional Office VII and Ormoc City Police after an entrapment operation on June 26 in Barangay Salvacion, Ormoc City. Authorities seized seven translucent sachets weighing roughly eight grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth).
Aside from that, one caliber .45 handgun, two magazines loaded with 12 live ammo, one false PDEA ID, one fake PDEA badge, one mobile phone, and cash totaling P1,138 in various currencies. Galapin will be prosecuted for violating Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs).
Galapin will also face additional charges since the unauthorized wearing of PDEA uniforms, or insignia is punishable under the Revised Penal Code. Villanueva previously warned the public against unscrupulous individuals pretending as their agents to execute illegal activities.
