Jason Abalos was asked about the pageant retirement of Vickie Rushton
Vickie was supposed to represent Negros Occidental in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant last year. However, she had to withdraw due to the “age limit”. In June this year, she finally announced her pageant retirement and this saddened her fans and fellow beauty queens.
Although she is devastated to leave the world of pageantry, Vickie said that she realized that she is no longer part of it. “I never imagined this journey would end this way but maybe it’s time to dream a new dream,” she said.
Jason Abalos has been very supportive of her pageant stints whatever the outcome was. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he has been waiting for his girlfriend to end her pageant journey, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
“Siguro nasa ano na kami ni Vickie eh, matagal na kong naghihintay na matapos si Vickie sa pagpa-pageant. Tingin ko ayon na ‘yon e. Sabi ko, ‘O tama na yan, hindi ka na pwede, tayo naman’,” Jason said.
He added that he really let Vickie do what she wanted to do. “Kasi hinayaan ko siya talagang lumarga, gawin niya lahat ng gusto niya habang dalaga pa siya, so ngayon siguro panahon na para bumuo ng pamilya,” he explained. Is this a hint that the actor is ready to bring their relationship to the next chapter?
Meanwhile, the upcoming movie of Jason Abalos also stars Cloe Barretto and Marco Gomez and this is directed by award-winning filmmaker Joel Lamangan.
