These escapees were classified high-risk due to their cases, according to Atty. Jairus Anthony Dogelio, spokeswoman for the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-6. These PDLs fled from the jail about 1:20 a.m., according to him.

Dogelio stated they couldn’t tell if the PDLs cut the steel bar of their holding cell because no weapons were found. According to Dogelio, the escapees knotted their clothing together and used them to climb the wall.

According to Dogelio, the BJMP has already teamed up with other law enforcement organizations to track down the fugitives. Superintendent Prizel Arevalo, NODJ warden, was dismissed of his duty effective today, according to Dogelio, as part of the procedure after the event.

Chief Inspector Abner Zamora, who is already assigned to NODJ, took Arevalo’s job. Meanwhile, Dogelio stated that the on-duty jail guards will be investigated to see if there were any mistakes on their behalf.
