Salvador Panelo Reacts To Leni Robredo’s Comments, Suggestions
SALVADOR PANELO – Here’s Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo’s reaction to the comments and suggestions of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo about some government issues.
‘Counterpoint’ is public affairs show hosted by Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo. The program was created after he was replaced by Harry Roque as the Presidential Spokesperson of Rodrigo Duterte in mid-April 2020.
Panelo created the program as a new platform for “discussing the issues affecting the country.” It is also a platform for voicing his arguments for and defense of the actions taken by the Duterte administration.
Salvador Panelo reacted to the comments and suggestions of Vice President Leni Robredo about some government issues. He made the statement after Robredo called on the Duterte administration to help provinces reeling from increasing COVID-19 cases.
Robredo’s hometown Bicol also experience a COVID-19 spike. She said on her radio program that the medical workers there were worried that there were not enough hospital beds to address the surge.
“Ano namang assistance ang mabibigay mo VP Leni? Nagmagaling ka na naman. Ano? Magbibigay ka ng beds? Ilang beds? Dalawa? Tatlo Apat? Ikaw talaga oh... Pag every week yung programa mo at wala ka nang ma e-discuss, walang magandang issue, hahanap ka ng issue,” said Panelo.

Salvador Panelo said Robredo could develop good ideas if she doesn’t always listen to her advisers. “Ang napapansin ko lang sometimes or most of the time you listen to your advisers. Sabi ko nga sayo kung ikaw lang ang mag-dedisisyon, palagay ko tama lahat ang mga desisyon mo dahil meron ka namang katutubong galing,” he said.

VP Leni Robredo is the widow of former Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo who died in a plane crash in 2012. She is the top choice as presidential candidate for opposition coalition 1Sambayan.
