VP Leni Robredo in Quarantine After Exposure to COVID-19 Patient
LENI ROBREDO – Vice President Leni Robredo said she came in “very close contact” with a person who tested positice for COVID-19.
There are about 367,819 cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines as of October 24. The government and health officials are still trying to manage the health crisis.
Vice President Leni Robredo has been busy helping the people affected by the health crisis. She and her team have provided dorms for the frontliners, helping the LSIs, and offered rides to the employees who need to get to work as most of the public transports halted operations.
Leni Robredo also set up an initiative to help the student with their distance learning and her online platform “Bayanihanhanapbuhay” for the displaced workers.

On late Saturday, VP Leni Robredo took to her Facebook account to share that said she was undergoing self-quarantining after she learned that she had close contact with a coronavirus patient. She said she and her chief-of-staff would isolate and until they get COVID-19 tests.
“On Friday morning, we learned that someone, my chief of staff and I had very close contact with, tested positive for COVID. Following protocols, we decided to do self quarantine beginning Friday until we get a swab test.”
“So all events for Friday until necessary will be done online. We were supposed to visit our other Community Learning Hubs this week. We are postponing these until we get cleared,” she added.
In her weekly radio show, VP Leni Robredo said she does not feel any of the COVID-19 symptoms. She said that was not the first time she had a close contact with a COVID-19 patient.
“Wala naman. Ano naman, mula pa noong March, talagang inaasikaso nating magpalakas ng immune system. Pero hindi talaga maiiwasan… Dahil bumababa kami sa communities, hindi talaga naiiwasan na maging close contact.”
“Hindi naman ito first time. Naging close contact na rin kami doon sa iba naming staff na nag-positive. Ito, hindi staff pero nakasama namin this week sa ikot. So kasama namin buong umaga.”
“So ito naman, wala namang may gusto nito, pero susunod tayo. Susunod tayo sa mga protocols,” she added.
