Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Speaks on Call for Her To Run for President
SARA DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor reacted to speculations that her statements on running for president in the 2022 Elections are scripted.
There are already a lot of speculations and calls for the 2022 Elections. Many Filipinos already have their bets in mind for the next presidential race but none has yet to confirm on running for president.
One of those called to run for president is presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. It is amid President Rodrigo Roa Duterte‘s strong objection to the said idea as he does not want his daughter to experience what Chief Executives are going through.
There are also calls for Pres. Duterte to run as the vice president of his daughter in the next election. As for him, he wants to retire and go home to Davao City. His daughter also recently spoke that a tandem with her father in the national election in 2022 is not going to happen.

Previously, Mayor Sara has already expressed that she has no intentions to run for president in 2022. However, there are a lot of people who wants her to reconsider her decision. Her political party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), gave her until July to decide on whether or not to take the presidential race next election.
There are speculations that Mayor Sara Duterte will be like the President who announced his decision to run for the top post in the government in the last minute. Some people are tagging her statements as “scripted”. To this, the Davao City Mayor has a response.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Mayor Sara expressed that there is “no script”. She stressed that the decision must be thought of very well as it is not an easy thing to do. The Davao City Mayor has until July to decide. According to her, many people wants to talk to her about running for president.
As for Pres. Duterte, he wants to retire from politics in 2022. He is planning to go home to Davao City after he finished his term as president.
