Update on Batangas Town Mayor Larry Alilio’s Condition After Testing Positive for COVID-19

BATANGAS TOWN MAYOR – Lemery Mayor Larry Alilio tested positive for COVID-19. Here’s an update about his condition now.

Many countries are battling hard against the COVID-19 pandemic now. One of these is the Philippines which is still under community quarantine measures. The total cases in the nation has already surpassed one (1) million.

In PH, the whole Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions. There are also provinces which have higher cases of COVID-19 that are currently under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ), the second strictest measure.

Currently, the rolling out of the COVID-19 vaccines are ongoing with the healthcare workers as the top priority. The vaccination of the senior citizens and those people with co-morbidities have also started.

This June, the national government is targeting the major vaccination of the essential workers and the poor Filipinos. It is the biggest step for population protection.

Every day, there are still fresh cases of COVID-19. Recently, a Batangas town mayor, Mayor Larry Alilio of Lemery, tested positive for COVID-19. He went through a general check-up including an RT-PCR test to secure his health and the result of his swab test returned positive.

The Mayor asked the people he had a contact with to undergo a self-quarantine for 14 days and to contact the MHO in case they feel a symptom of COVID-19. He temporarily stopped all his appointments and visitations.

Based on the report, Mayor Larry Alilio received his COVID-19 jab last month. In a text message sent to ABS-CBN News, the Batangas town mayor said that he is asymptomatic or not experiencing a symptom of the coronavirus disease.
