Pres. Duterte Announces PH Community Quarantine Measure
DUTERTE – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte announced the community quarantine measure in the NCR Plus and the other areas in the Philippines from June 16-30, 2021.
The Philippine national government continues to implement community quarantine measures in the efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The cases are still increasing and the threats of the coronavirus disease are still present.
Usually, the government decides on the shifting of the community quarantine measures every two (2) weeks. The whole Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite were previously under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened measures.

Tagged as the NCR Plus, cases in the said areas had a spike in the first quarter of 2021 and it prompted the government to place it under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) then shifted to Modified ECQ and then GCQ with heightened measures.
Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte made a national address and announced the new community quarantine measures in the NCR Plus and the whole Philippines. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Cavite remain under GCQ with restrictions from June 16-30, 2021.
The NCR and the Bulacan province will be under GCQ “with some restrictions” while the provinces of Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna will be under GCQ with “heightened restrictions”. According to the report, Pres. Duterte said these areas will be under MECQ in the next two (2) weeks:

-Cagayan - Cordillera Administrative Region
-Apayao
-Ifugao - Region 3
-Bataan - Region 4-A
-Lucena City - Region 4-B
-Puerto Princesa City - Region 5
-Naga City - Region 6
-Iloilo City-
-Iloilo - Regio 7
-Negros Oriental - Region 9
-Zamboanga City
-Zamboanga Sibugay
-Zamboanga Del Sur
-Zamboanga Del note - Region 10
–Cagayan De oro City - Region 11
–Davao City - Caraga
-Butuan City
-Agusan Del Sur
-Dinagat Islands
-Surigao del Sur
According to the President, there are also areas that will be under GCQ which is the second loosest quarantine measure level. Here are the areas under GCQ:

-Mountain Province

-Benguet - Region 2
–Isabela
-Nueva Vizcaya
-Quirino - Region 4-A
–Batangas
-Quezon - Region 10

The rest of the areas in the Philippines will be under modified GCQ from June 16 to 30. The vaccination program against COVID-19 is ongoing.
