Ivana Alawi said that she had “chaka” days in the past
Actress-vlogger Ivana Alawi recalled the time when she was not given any projects and she said it was because she was ugly.
Ivana, no doubt, is one of the most charming female celebrities in the Philippines nowadays. Aside from her beautiful face, her figure is also being admired by male and female fans.
However, there was a point in her life that she felt being “pangit” was a hindrance to getting any job offer. Based on the article in Inquirer, in one of the recent vlogs, Ivana Alawi revealed this part of her life with her siblings Hash Alawi and Mona Alawi.
The actress shared that she had to be the breadwinner of their family when their father passed away. She had to do different kinds of jobs in order to earn money.
“Nagtrabaho ako, nag-flyering ako, nagraraket para makatulong din sa pamilya,” she shared. However, there was a time that she had no project and she said it was because of being ugly.
Dumating din yung time na wala akong naging raket kasi pangit ako,” Ivana said. Her sister Mona contradicted her statement but the actress said that the job offers were looking for a different kind of beauty and that was not her.
“Uy, naging chaka [ako]. Gusto nila matatangkad. So, hindi ako pumapasa,” she said. During the time that Ivana has no job, Mona’s showbiz projects as a child actress became their financial source.
Then, Ivana Alawi asked this question to her siblings: “Takot ba kayo kapag nag-asawa ako? Hindi kayo ‘yung magiging priority ko.” Both Hash and Mona said that they will accept it when the situation comes.
