Oil Firms Set To Impose Another Pump Price Hike This Week

Several oil firms in the country are set to implement another price adjustment starting in Tuesday (June 15, 2021).

The oil companies in the Philippines would impose another increase on prices of petroleum products this week. It would be the ninth straight week for diesel, fourth for gasoline and third for kerosene.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation announced that they would impose an additional amount of P0.40 per liter of diesel, P0.50 per liter of gasoline, and P0.30 per liter of kerosene. Cleanfuel and Petro Gazz would also implement similar price adjustment except for kerosene.

Other oil companies were expected to make similar announcements later this week. The gas stations would start to impose the price changes at 6:00 am on Tuesday except for Cleanfuel, which will implement the adjustment at 4:01 pm.

The Department of Energy has also released the latest date available showing the year-to-date adjustments of total net increase. The data shows P7.60 per liter of diesel, P9.30 per liter of gasoline and P6.10 per liter of kerosene.

The expected pump price hike would surely add to the burdens of Filipino motorists who were currently struggling due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
