Kris Bernal and another actress reacted to the post of Kakai Bautista about body-shaming.
KAKAI BAUTISTA – In her Tiktok video, comedian and actress Kakai Bautista wrote down her clap back to those who body-shamed her.
Body-shaming has become so rampant in social medial coming from people online hiding behind their keyboard and monitor screen. And oftentimes, the victims of this are celebrities and other popular personalities. In the country, it has become a standard that a body with the right curves, is the one identified as sexy, and if you’re too thin or too thick, you get body-shaming comments in return. And the latter is what comedian and actress Kakai Bautista has encountered just recently.
In her latest Tiktok video where she was seen wearing the clothes she’s comfortable wearing, she shared that she has come across through a lot of body-shamers in the past few days. She confessed her love for eating and slammed the “toxic Filipino culture” about being curvy.
“𝙱𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚔, 𝙱𝚛𝚘𝚠𝚗, 𝙼𝚘𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚊, 𝚔𝚊𝚢𝚞𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚐𝚒 𝚒𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚋𝚎𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚞𝚕. 𝙿𝚊𝚔𝚍𝚒𝚣𝚊𝚕𝚕.
𝚁𝙴𝙰𝙻 𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺. 𝚊𝚗𝚐 𝚍𝚊𝚖𝚒 𝚔𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚔𝚒𝚕𝚊𝚕𝚊 𝚙𝚊𝚢𝚊𝚝 𝚗𝚊 𝚖𝚊𝚢𝚜𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚝. 𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝚒𝚝’𝚜 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚐𝚘𝚘𝚍. 𝙸 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚋𝚎 𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚢 𝚠𝚒𝚝𝚑 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝,” she wrote in her narrative. The comedian furthered that she knows a lot of “morena” women and they are definitely a beauty.
Kakai also said in her post that seeing the beauty in others starts in seeing the beauty with oneself first. Life is accordingly short that it would be such a waste if you continue to interfere in other people’s lives. Kapuso actresses Kris Bernal and Sanya Lopez both agreed to her statements.
They both believed that body-shaming must be stopped. Bernal expressed that it’s important “to see the good in ourselves so we can see the good in others” while Lopez stated that each person has their own beauty.
