After critical comment Manny Pacquiao has expressed, President Duterte reacted, and here’s what he has said.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE – Manny Pacquiao reacted to the jet ski bluff of President Duterte and the president has this response to it.
Last 2016, President Rodrigo Duterte has bravely expressed before the massive crowd of people that if China refuses to honor the tribunal rule in favor of the Philippines regarding the disputed waters he would fight for it. Even if it needs for him to ride a jet ski with the flag and plant the flag in there to show to them that it is not for them to own.
This was his statement then:
“Kapag sinabi [ng UN arbitral tribunal] na panalo tayo at ayaw ng China, I will not go to war. Pupunta ako sa China. Ngayon 'pag ayaw nila, I will ask the Navy to bring me to the nearest boundary, diyan sa Spratly, sa Scarborough. Bababa ako at sasakay ako ng jetski, dala dala ko ang flag ng Filipino at pupunta ako dun sa airport [ng China] tapos itanim ko. I will say, 'This is ours and do what you want with me'."
And now, with the intensifying tension in the West Philippine Sea, the president just suddenly blurted out that what he said way back during his presidential campaign was just hyperbole. It was just accordingly his strategy to win and a joke. What he said then was just a bluff. Sen. Panfilo Lacson reacted to this and expressed that “we have a big problem in our hands” now because no one can ever determine anymore if he’s joking or not.
Boxing legend and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao also reacted to this. He aired his disappointment because that strong stance that turned out to be a bluff was among the reasons why he voted for him. The promise has also given the millions of people the strength and courage that he will defend the country and stand up for the people but in the end, the millions of voters who believed in him got pranked.
Pacman even added, “Hindi naman siguro tayo papayag na ang Presidente natin mag-jetski. Pero kung ang Presidente natin maglambot para na rin tayong mawalan ng lakas ng loob.”
And now, as per a report from GMA News, during an interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in Davao City, he clapped back to Pacman and even described that the “guy” apparently has a “very shallow knowledge”. The president stated, “It’s about foreign policy. I would not want to degrade him but next time he should, mag-aral ka muna nang husto.”
