Joey Salceda Claims Davao Mayor Sara Duterte Plans to Run in 2022 Election
Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda revealed that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio plans to run in this May 2022 election.
There is no doubt, according to Salceda, that the mayor of Davao City would run for President in the next election. According to a Teleradyo interview, Salceda is confident based on their discussions.
“There’s no doubt in my mind based on our exchange of chats and this has been long running that she will definitely run in 2022,” he said when asked if Sara will run in 2022 election.

Salceda claimed that he was bombarded with questions concerning the running of the President’s daughter, who is now the mayor of Davao, but that he did not respond. He went on to say that he asked Inday Sara for permission to ask the questions, but the Davao Mayor refused.
“Nagpaalam ako sa kanya kasi ang dami na, simula 2 weeks ago, kinukulit na po talaga ako at tumatanggi ako, sabi ko baka dapat ikaw na. Sabi niya, ‘ikaw na muna,” Salceda said.
The representative went on to say that the mayor is currently working on building an alliance. According to Salceda, based on the current state of affairs, it’s probable that she will run unopposed.
Sara has grabbed the lead in surveys for the possibility of running for President on multiple occasions, although she has also denied that she will run for the position. Apart from her, certain speculated presidential contenders such as Senator Manny Pacquiao, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and others have remained silent.
