Just recenty, Angel was one of the prominent celebrities in the Philippine entertainment industry who showed support for Alex Eala.
Angel Locsin posted a photo of the tennis champion on Facebook and Instagram, capturing the moment of her latest victory at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open.
“Mabuhay ka Alex! First Filipino player to win a WTA Tour singles title. Congratulations, Alex! #AlexEala,” the actress, dubbed as the real-life Darna, wrote in the caption of her post.
In another post, Angel shared Alex’s emotional moment after winning that iconic game in her tennis career. The actress simply captioned her post, “IDOL.”
In the comment section of this post, it can be noticed that Angel’s husband, businessman Neil Arce left a comment. “Basta alam ko bata pa lang ako idol na kita,” Neil wrote.
Just recently, Alex Eala achieved the biggest victory of her tennis career after defeating world No. 3 Jessica Pegula of the United States at the 2026 Mubadala DC Open, based on the article in Bandera.
Alex is the first-ever Filipino to win a WTA Tour singles championship, prompting the entire Philippines to celebrate yet another historic victory of hers.
Prior to this, many netizens had already noticed a resemblance between Alex and Angel, particularly in photos from her recent match that circulated on social media. As a result, many are now calling her an Angel Locsin look-alike.
