PAGASA Releases Updates About Tropical Storm Dante

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Dante another landfall over Cataingan, Masbate and 29 areas placed under signal no.1.

On Wednesday (June 2, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Dante would continue to bring an inclement weather condition.

PAGASA said that Tropical Storm Dante has been last spotted at over the western coastal waters of Balud, Masbate. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

The tropical storm is expected to bring moderate to heavy and occasional intense rains over Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, northern Negros Oriental, northern and central Cebu including Bantayan Islands.

The weather disturbance would also bring moderate to heavy rains over CALABARZON, Occidental Mindoro, Masbate, northern Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, and the rest of Negros Oriental and Cebu.

Meanwhile, the weather agency has add some areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 and 2 as storm Dante.

Dante is expected to maintain its strength until it makes landfall in Luzon before it weakens into a tropical depression on Wednesday afternoon or evening.
