Tropical Storm Dante Causes Flooding at a Town in Agusan del Norte

The town of Tubay in Agusan del Norte has been submerged in floodwaters due to the effects of Tropical Storm Dante.

Tropical Storm Dante with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph has been last located at 235 kilometers east of Maasin City, Southern Leyte.

PAGASA has already raised TCWS no.1 and 2 in various areas due to the inclement weather brought by Dante. The weather disturbance is expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm within the next 48 hours.

On Tuesday (June 1, 2021), A netizen named Blet Constantino has shared the video footage of a road in of Tubay in Agusan del Norte, which is submerged in floodwaters. The video elicits comments from the online community.

In the video, it can be seen that the floodwater occupied the road making it impassable for the vehicle drivers and motorcycle riders. The floodwater is high enough to cause inconvenience to the residents.

Atty. Blet Constantino said that she is heading to Surigao City when they have witnessed the floodwaters covering the road. The incessant rain brought by the Tropical Storm reportedly caused the flooding.
