MTPB Enforcer Chases, Arrested 2 Snatchers Who Rob Senior Citizen in Tondo
A brave Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) enforcer chases and arrested two (2) minor snatchers who robbed a senior citizen walking in Tondo, Manila.
A traffic enforcer of the MTPB chased and arrested the two youths after they snatched the cellphone of a senior citizen who was walking in Tondo, Manila. The two arrested youths, one of whom is 15 and the other 14, are both residents of Baseco Compound in Manila’s Port Area.

The perpetrators were apprehended after the victim, Romansita Lira, 63, of Maypajo, Caloocan City, was robbed, according to the report. The thieves snatched the victim’s iPhone as she walked at the corner of Moriones and Juan Luna Streets in Tondo about 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
MTPB traffic enforcer Joel T. Santos was directing traffic at the location during the initial inquiry when he spotted the victim, an elderly person, shouting and pleading for help since his android mobile had been stolen.
Santos immediately pursued the two individuals who took the smartphone until they reached Franco St., Tondo, because it was his responsibility and he wanted to help the public. The daring officer cornered the culprits and arrested them.
After their relatives visited them, the apprehended suspects were brought to MPD-Station 7, where they learned that they were both minors. The suspects recovered the cellphone and returned it to the victim, who stated that she would not file a complaint when she found out that they were minors.
