India Records 4,529 Deaths Due To COVID-19 In A Single Day
INDIA RECORDS 4,529 DEATHS – Despite the lowered number of daily infections, India is still hit hard with COVID-19 fatalities.
Recently, the coronavirus hit India hard with record-high numbers of daily cases and deaths. Following this, India managed to lower down their daily case load with stricter implementations of health protocols.
However, even with the lowered number of cases, over 4,500 fatalities were still recorded. As such, India now updates its death toll to 283,248. Meanwhile, the United States still holds the most number of deaths at over 600,000. Brazil comes in second with over 440,000 deaths.
Additionally, India also recorded over 267,000 new cases. This brings the total number of cases in India to 25.5 million, second only to the United States.
For the last 2 months, India has been ravaged by a lack of hospital space, oxygen, and important medicine. This led to over 100,000 deaths reported since the start of April.
However, India’s COVID-19 task force head stated that if the caseload remains below 300,000 for the third straight day, that would be a sign of the virus easing. Currently, the pandemic curve is stabilizing in India according to V.K. Paul, India’s task force head.
