Vice Ganda Admits His Punchline ‘Kinakalawang’ Due To Pandemic

Vice Ganda had to face these changes due to the pandemic

Comedian-host Vice Ganda admitted that he felt his punchlines are “kinakalawang” as the pandemic also had a great effect on the entertainment industry.

Vice, along with the It’s Showtime family, has been doing the live show for several years now. Since most of the days they are airing live, the comedian was used to throwing impromptu punchlines or jokes.

However, due the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting shows with live audience was prohibited and so almost everything was done online.

Based on the article in Bandera, Vice Ganda admitted that his way of doing comedy became rusty because it took a long period of time before they did the live show again.

“There were times na feeling ko parang kinalawang ako, kasi di ba, ang tagal mong nabakante, kahit sino naman,” the comedian-host admitted.

He also shared that when their show went back to doing live, it was difficult for him to throw his punchline and there were times that he could not think of anything. Vice even said that there were times that his co-host Vhong Navarro would tell him that he looked like he was in a deep thought.

Kasi kilala ko yung sarili ko, eh, na pag may mabilis akong naisip mabilis ko ring maibabato, tapos biglang hindi ko siya nabato agad, tapos hindi ko maisip agad. Sabi ko, ‘Oh, my God kinakalawang yata ako,’” Vice Ganda said.

In order to bring back that energy in making people laugh, the comedian-host revealed that he is practicing through “okrayan” with her friends over the phone. He added that he should revive his wittiness when it comes to doing punchlines.
