PNP Orders Intensified Probe vs “Maryjane” Planting Inside Condos
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has ordered an intensified probe against “Maryjane” planting inside condos after the arrest of plantito in Taguig.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar has ordered an investigation into whether marijuana production in condominiums is becoming a new type of syndicate. This comes after operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) found marijuana plants in a pot inside a condo unit in Taguig.
It belonged to a former US Air Force serviceman and his Filipina live-in wife. During the buy-bust action, authorities arrested Nineraul Antonio Cisneros, a former US Air Force member, and his wife Melji Makiling.

The illegal plantation was discovered after an informant alerted police drug investigators. According to the paper, the operation uncovered P2.2 million worth of illicit drug plants.
To keep the plants from withering, the perpetrators reportedly used high-tech equipment. The suspects allegedly supplied maryjane to dealers in Taguig, Makati, and the Calabarzon district, according to the NCRPO report.
“We need to intensify our intelligence gathering kung ganito na ba ang style ngayon ng mga sindikato ng droga, lalo na sa marijuana. Posibleng may iba na ring gumagawa nito dahil mahirap mahuli kung ganitong nasa loob ng condominium,” said Eleazar.
In addition, there have been rumors that shabu and ecstasy users have switched to illicit drug plants. That is why, Elezard explained, we also concentrate on preventing it, and our activity here is very continuous.
“Our PDEA chief, Director General Wilkins Villanueva, also said last year that shabu users have shifted to marijuana and even ecstasy due to our intensified operations na rin,” he added.
