In the 69th edition of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world, the Power of Unity is the 11th crown since the Miss Universe held its first pageant on 1952, based on the article in Preview.
It is made of 18 karat gold and just a little short of 2000 white diamonds. The crown also features three golden canary colored diamond and this symbolizes the new golden age of women.
Another eye-catching feature of the Miss Universe 2020 crown is the shield-cut centerpiece weighing 62.83 carats. This came all way from a Botswana mine.
The design showcases petals, leaves, and vines. This is to represent the bond of women all over the seven continents. With these stunning features of the crown, it costs $5 million or around P239 million.
The first Miss Universe winner who wore this was Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tonzi. However, it was Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray who unveiled the stunning crown.
Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza from Mexico is the second woman who will wear this crown. The original crown is being kept by the Miss Universe Organization but a replica is being given to the reigning queen.
