Man Goes Down on MRT-3 Tracks and Took a Selfie Faces Charges
The Department of Transportation-Manila Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (DOTR-MRT-3) has sued the man who goes down on the train tracks to take a selfie.
The DOTr-MRT3 management will file a lawsuit against a man who got off the train tracks with a friend and was caught on CCTV taking a “selfie.” According to a DOTr-MRT3 post on their official Facebook page, they will be charged with alarms and scandals by the train management.

On May 9, the incident occurred at Quezon Avenue Station. Since it is dangerous, MRT-3 specifically forbids getting off the train. The security guards at the station reacted quickly to the incident and transported the two to the Kamuning Police Station for the inquest procedure.
A woman passenger was previously investigated after a worried netizen filmed and confronted her for taking off her mask and face shield to take a selfie. In the video, the woman simply ignores him and continues to take selfies before re-applying the facemask and shield.
The video uploader was also chastised for his video, but according to DOTr Assistant Secretary Goddes Hope Libiran, the incident was not taken lightly because it posed a threat to the health and safety of other passengers.
Aside from the passenger, the transport marshal on duty will be investigated for allegedly failing to perform his duty, which is to order passengers who willfully violate health laws to exit the transportation vehicle, stations, and terminals.
