CATRIONA GRAY – Crowned Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray reveals how she was able to come back to Australia amid its border closure.
One of the most iconic beauty queens and the one who’s also dubbed for impressively raising the bar higher being a beauty queen is the crowned Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. She snatched the 4th Miss Universe crown and add herself to the list of victorious beauty queens from the pageant Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, and Pia Wurtzbach.
In an Instagram post, since winning the pageant, she vowed to see her father four times a year but it did not happen. The pandemic has happened and she is well-aware that she is not alone in this misery. Her mother is a Filipina while her father is a Scottish who is currently based in Australia.
She is based in the Philippines since she was 18 years old and with most of her works and commitments meant to be done in the country, she stayed here and due to the pandemic, she wasn’t able to see her parents for over a year. She shared, “It’s always been a fear of mine, having an older father, of not having enough time with him. I don’t want to one day, be full of regret for not having given time to one of the most important people in my life.”
Going back to Australia wasn’t actually easy for her. She shared that she had been through countless “rescheduled flights, two flight cancelations, swab tests, stress, applications, and waiting” just to get there. With the current health situation of the world and the people aware of the closing down of borders of Australia, a netizen asked her how she did it amid the implementation.
She clarified and explained to the netizen that her travel is legitimate because the close down is only applicable to tourists and not for its citizens and returning residents.
