4Ps Beneficiaries 2 Siblings Arrested in a Drugs Buy-Bust Ops in Quezon City

Police arrested two (2) siblings who are allegedly beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Quezon City buy-bust operation.

The siblings, who are both beneficiaries of the 4Ps, were arrested in Quezon City during a buy-bust operation. P/BGen. Antonio Yarra, Director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said brothers Mark John Mateo, alias Macky, 35, and John Neil Mateo, 28, were arrested.

Both suspects live at No. 39 P. Bautista St. in Brgy. Pansol, QC. The siblings will face charges under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

According to P/Lt.Col. Alex Alberto, chief of the Quezon City Police District-Kamuning Police Station (QCPD-PS-10), the suspects were apprehended in a joint buy-bust operation led by P/Lt.Col. Imelda Reyes and involving the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Kamuning PS-10 and Anonas Police Station 9 (PS-9).

After receiving information about the siblings’ illicit activities, authorities conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Pansol’s N. Perez St. The suspects were arrested and taken to the precinct after the undercover cop purchased P6,500 worth of shabu.

The suspects were already on police station 10’s narcotics watchlist, according to the police report. Authorities seized buy-bust money, a five-gram sachet of illegal drugs (shabu) valued at P34,000, and a cellphone.
