MMDA Imposes 30-Minute “Heat Stroke Break” for Personnel Working on the Road

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) imposes a “heat stroke break” for their personnel who are working on the road.

The MMDA will introduce a 30-minute “heat stroke break” for its road-duty staff, especially those who have been exposed to the sun. The protection and wellbeing of MMDA employees is a top priority, according to Chairman Benhur Abalos.

“Our personnel’s safety is our paramount concern. This special heat stroke break is available for traffic enforcers and street sweepers who work under the dry season’s searing heat and protect them from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and heat cramps,” Abalos said.
