Man Stabbed by Older Brother to Death Allegedly Due to Heated Argument
A drinking session in Iloilo City turned into killing incident after a man was killed after being stabbed by his older brother due to heated argument.
On Wednesday afternoon, a man died in Oton, Iloilo, after he was reportedly assaulted by an older brother with whom he had a quarrel. Purisimo Salitre, 54, was the suspect, according to Oton police.
According to the police investigation, after attending the funeral of their cousin in Barangay Cadinglian, the two brothers got into a heated argument while drinking. According to police, the victim reportedly struck his older brother, but then stabbed him in the back.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, but due to injuries to different parts of his body, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The defendant is being held by the Oton Police Department.
Meanwhile, in Santa, Ilocos Sur, a barangay chairman shot and killed the watchmen’s leader after he became angry and refused to be restrained. The captain’s chief tanod even tried to stab him, according to the paper.
During the investigation, the police discovered that the man was inebriated and that he and his brother-in-law, who was also inebriated, had a fight. The two barangay councilors allegedly appeased the victim, but he refused to listen and calm down, causing their barangay chief to be called, which resulted in a shooting.
