Criminology Student in Cotabato Found Owning Illegal Drugs Resulted in His Arrest

Authorities arrested a graduating criminology student over allegedly possession of illegal drugs Kabacan town, Cotabato, Thursday.

A criminology student was arrested and charged with possession of illegal drugs called ‘shabu’. The suspect was found in possession of 11 sachets of the illicit substance worth P68,000 at his home in Barangay Aringay, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 12.

According to the PDEA, he was also found with drug paraphernalia and improvised weapons. The perpetrator is said to be a BS Criminology student about to graduate.

He is said to be paid or given a motorcycle in return for the drugs he sells. The defendant will be charged with violating the Controlled Dangerous Substances Act.

Meanwhile, a police officer and a drug suspect were killed in this province when the police operation against the two turned into shootout. They reportedly fought back after the latter was served with an arrest warrant. 

When the government troops arrived in the town, they were met with gunfire, prompting the police to retaliate which lasted several minutes. In his house, the police suspect was found lying with gunshot wounds. Two men from the operatives was also wounded.
