ANA PATRICIA NON – Maginhawa Community Pantry organizer Ana Patricia Non handled this “dirty question” from GMA-7 reporter Tina Panganiban-Perez.
Maginhawa Community Pantry has started all the other community pantries that spread across the country. The “bayanihan” movement was organized by Ana Patricia Non who is speculated to be linked and connected with communist groups. The red-tagging issue has received various comments and among those who commented is former Vice President Jejomar Binay who lambasted the government.

Meanwhile, DILG Undersecretary Martin Diño also insisted that community pantries must have permits from their local government. This movement, to some people, has only revealed the gaps and delayed aid from the government to the people. The ordinary people, due to lack of help, created this to help one another as they could not trust as to when the assistance from the government might come.
And just recently, when the founder got interviewed through Zoom by GMA-7 reporter Tina Panganiban-Perez, she was asked this question, “Meron ka nga bang link sa communist groups?”
This has trended online. With the triggering question, she answered this calmly, “Sa totoo lang po, wala akong link sa Communist Party. And napaka… pasensiya na po, napakadumi po ng question na ‘yan. Kasi po, last thing na kailangan ko i-explain sa mga tao ay kung ano ako, sino ba ako, ganyan, kasi malinaw yung intensiyon ko.”
In founding the community pantry, all that she ever just wanted is to give the people who have nothing to have at least something to eat to surpass their hunger. This is her pure intention and this is something that’s so clear to a lot of people. She added, “So, between me and other people po na nagkulang ng response, tingin ko hindi po ako ang dapat nag-e-explain. Ano ba ako, sino ba ako? Kasi malinaw ang intensiyon ko una pa lang.”
