According to Interior Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, they have yet to receive a complaint regarding the distribution of financial assistance for those affected by the strict NCR Plus or enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) season 2.

“They are now very compliant with the rules and regulations. So far wala pa tayong complaints on anomalya at iregularidad. Complaints are mostly sa listahan,” Malaya in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

“As far as irregularities are concerned, wala masyado compared noong isang taon. Dito sa ayuda, walang gaanong katiwalian sa barangay officials. Last year, kinasuhan at may mga na-suspend pa sa kanila,” he added.

The national government recently put NCR under second ECQ or NCR Plus Bubble due rising COVID-19 cases. With that, a resident of Metro Manila, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, and Cavite who underwent a two-week ECQ will become a beneficiary of the cash assistance.

The Philippines government is providing P1, 000 cash assistance program per individual with a maximum of P4,000 per family. Meanwhile, Malaya announced that the agency would extend the 15-day deadline for cash aid distribution because some local government units are having difficulty completing it.
