Beauty Guru Gives Details About Miss Universe 2020 Pageant
MISS UNIVERSE 2020 – The owner of the O Skincare and Spa, Olivia Quido-Co gave some details about the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.
On Friday, April 9, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo departed for mainland USA, ahead of the highly-anticipated pageant in Miami, Florida. She and her team will undergo 14-day quarantine in LA upon their arrival.
The 69th Miss Universe pageant is set to be held on May 16, 2021, at the Seminole Hard Rock Café in Hollywood, Florida. The Filipina-Indian beauty queen is eyeing to bring home the Philippines ’ 5th Miss Universe crown.
In a mini-press conference on April 10, PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to interview businesswoman and beauty guru Olivia Quido-Co. She is the owner of the O Skincare and Spa, the official skincare partner of MU 2020.
She told them that she’s excited because the candidates are starting to arrive in the US. She also shared some of the things fans should look out for in the upcoming pageant.
“Excited ako doon kasi meron tayong aalagaan na 80 delegates na beauty queens around the world. Tayong mga Filipinos ang mag-aalaga ng beauty queens all over the world so excited ako diyan,” she said.

Rabiya Mateo is one of the first candidates to see Olivia Quido-Co. She and candidate from El Salvador Vanessa Velásquez are among those who will participate in the pre-pageant activity of MU for her skincare brand and spa.
Olivia said she’s looking forward to seeing all the Miss Universe 2020 candidates during their beauty session. It will be held in the grand ballroom of the hotel.
Olivia Quido-Co was also asked about the COVID-19 protocols of the pageant. She said there will be a live audience during the coronation night but it is limited to the 25% capacity of the venue.
“Ang sabi nila, the moment we arrive sa hotel, isa-swab test na nila kami. And then, after the swab test, we will be placed in our hotel room. Hindi kami palalabasin until the next day na malaman namin yung results.
“So, dun kami kakain sa kuwarto, dun kami magdi-dinner, dun kami magbe-breakfast. And then, I will meet all the 80 delegates at lunch time the next day.”
“Every day meron silang tinatawag COVID-19 protocol na may hinire silang agency, ang Miss Universe, na ite-test kami, lahat kami, ang mga mag-aalaga sa mga delegates for I would say, every day daw yung swab test namin.
“Dun pa lang, mahigpit na mahigpit na sila because they will place us in a bubble sa hotel,” she added.
The beauty guru believes that Rabiya Mateo has a good chance of winning the Miss Universe title. She also shared that she wants to meet Amanda Obdam of Thailand, one of the strong contenders for the crown.
She said, “Meron siyang [Rabiya] something about her aura, and meron siyang charm na very relatable. You know, magaling siyang speaker, strong yung story niya.”
“I think those are her edge… na malaki ang chance natin sa Miss Universe this year,” she added.
