President Duterte has these politicians as options for 2022 elections
President Rodrigo Duterte will choose among Bongbong Marcos, Isko Moreno, and Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao as his preferred presidential candidate in the 2022 election under this condition.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the politician who will have the support from the Chief Executive will have an advantage as he still has high ratings, based on the report in One News.
Roque said that the President will select among the three aforementioned politicians if his daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and Senator Bong Go will not run.
“In the end, if Sara does not run, if Bong Go does not run because he (would) only run for president if the president (runs) for vice president, the President will have to choose who has the number,” the Presidential Spokesperson said.
Roque added, “(The President) will have to choose from Isko, Manny Pacquiao, and Bongbong Marcos because there is no one else.”
The Davao City Mayor, whose recent Singapore trip created a loud buzz, previously said in an interview that her supporting initiating the “Run Sara Run” campaign should wait until 2034. On the other hand, she also said that she will run if the opposition will pledge their support for her in the 2022 elections.
Previously, Senator Bong Go also said that he will seek the presidency if President Duterte will also run as Vice President.
“The presidential endorsement will be formidable. Not only that, it’s not just the endorsement; it’s the machinery of the government that will be working for the anointed candidate of the President,” Roque stressed.
Meanwhile, when the Presidential Spokesperson was asked if he has plans of running, he said that he is not sure yet as this requires him to have resources. “I am not yet sure because it really depends if I have the resources,” Duterte’s spokesperson said.
