BONG GO – Senator Christopher Go gave an update about President Rodrigo Roa Duterte after he skipped this week’s national address.
The recent spike in the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines alarmed a lot of people including government officials. For several days now, the country is recording daily coronavirus cases higher than when the pandemic started.
In the pursuit to curb the spread of the disease, the entire National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Rizal, Laguna, Bulacan, and Cavite were placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) which is the strictest among the quarantine measures.
Collectively called as NCR Plus, the aforementioned areas will be under ECQ this week and the residents await on updates whether it will be extended or downgraded. Even the Presidential Security Group (PSG) has recorded cases of coronavirus.
Following several PSG members testing positive for COVID-19, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte skipped this week’s national address which is regularly set on Wednesday. The Palace revealed the reason and highlighted the safety of the Chief Executive as an utmost concern.
Following Pres. Duterte skipping the national address set for this week, Senator Bong Go posted photos of him with the Chief Executive on social media. In his caption, he assured that the President is just there working thus those who have ill intentions must not celebrate.
Sen. Bong Go also stressed that he wore a yellow polo but he is a supporter of the President. In his Facebook post, he encouraged the public to just help the President so the crisis will be overcome in unity.
